Here is Part Two of our Day (July
25th)
After relaxing for a while, we
headed to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and to pick up some shirts
-
We started out in Jackson Square
where the St. Louis Cathedral (1794) is located
-
We were entertained by a street
artisan who did a good job of making us laugh
-
At one point he had some of the
audience put him in a straight jacket and then chained him up. He
then walked into traffic and acted like he had just escaped from a loony
farm. I am not sure what the cars thought
-
This is from the church looking
back towards the water
-
This is looking down Bourbon Street.
It was the filthiest and smelliest street I have every experienced.
A mixture of booze, urine, and throw-up is what it smelled like to me.
We will not venture that way tomorrow
-
We decided to head back to the
hotel at this point so I thought I would leave you with this colorful shot
of a street buggy
Tomorrow we will finish our tour
of the French Quarter and try to experience some of the Cajun Cuisine
