Now we will take you back in time
to the 1830's on a Sugar Plantation on the Mississippi
Along the Mississippi we saw several
old Plantations from the road
-
-
-
This is what greets you from the street
of the plantation we visited
It is called Oak Alley for obvious
reasons
-
After eating lunch in the Plantation
Restaurant we were greeted by period costumed folks
My daughter would love the dresses
-
The rooms were all done in 1830's period
furniture
-
Here is view of some of the gardens
off of the porch
-
One last look at the house before we
go
-
Well guess what, more severe thunderstorms
on the way to Mississippi
Just after we left this area a report
of a tornado touchdown was reported
What is it about me that attacks these
storms when we travel
-
The rest of the trip up to Mississippi
was uneventful
Tomorrow we are going to try and do
a little more genealogy and visit the Vicksburg National Battlefield
