Today (July 27th) we left New Orleans
to head for Mississippi. On the way we stopped to look at some old
homes in New Orleans and go to a Sugar Cane Plantation along the Mississippi
River.
This was our Hotel the Dauphine
Orleans
It was a very pleasant Hotel right
in the heart of the French Quarters
-
The next few photo's are of Homes
in the Garden District of New Orleans
This was the American influence
on New Orleans
-
-
This particular home was surrounded
by a Corn Stalk fence and I believe the house is a Bed and Breakfast called
the Corn Stalk Inn-
-
Here is a close up of the unique
fence

We wrapped up our stay in New Orleans
by visiting Cemetery #1
All of the graves are buried above
ground because New Orleans is below Sea Level and the caskets would float
to the top otherwise
on Page 2 of July 27th we will
drive down the Mississippi to a beautiful Sugar Cane Plantation
