Part 2 of July 26th
After resting up we ventured out
to find some good chocolate truffles. We found some excellent chocolate
at "Cuccia's" at 622 Royal Street
-
At one point, every street had
a post like this to tie horses up to. Very few still exist as they
appear to have been broken off and stolen. This pair were in front
of a shop who had painted them up
-
Some of the streets were quite
beauitful with flowers and trees lining the street
-
This was down on the Mississippi
River and was titled "Old Man River". I don't see the connection
to the river. No further comment
-
It was getting about 5 pm and a
storm was rolling in complete with thunder and lightning so we decided
to have an early dinner to get out of the weather and to avoid the night
crowd
-
We had a very nice dinner at the
French Market Restuarant on Decatur Street. I had a Blackened Redfish
and Glorene had Grilled Chicken on Penne Pasta. The Fish was not
to spicy and we both enjoyed our meal
Tomorrow we are planning to tour
a plantation and then head back up into Mississippi to continue genealogy
research
