Lisbon NY to Johnstown NY

Today we visited Lisbon where Glorene's gggrandfather John Middleton pastored and her ggrandfather William Middleton was born.  We found some church records, the possible church he pastored, and some of Johns childrens graves.  We had a nice encounter with some of the towns people who were giving wagon rides today.  I was unable to find anything on my Leroy family as they didn't keep any records in the 1830-40's and I am not sure where in St. Lawrence Co. they were at.  We then drove to a library at Canton but were unable to find anything new there so we decided to head for Johnstown across the State.  It POURED down rain for most of the drive through the Adirondacks.  The mountains here rarely exceed 4000 ft but the lakes and surrounding country are very beautiful and are a popular resort spot for New Yorkers. Tomorrow is more geneaology on the Middletons, my Armstrongs and my Melody family who all lived within 20 miles of each other in the early 1800's

They even gave me the combination to the church safe so I could get the records out
Aren't small towns great

We are not sure of the exact age of this particular building and it may not have been the exact one that John pastored
