Today
we visited Mt. Washington, well, actually we viewed it from a distance
as they wanted $21 to drive up the road to the top. The Mt. looked
like one of our Cascade foot hills but was actually higher at 6000+ feet.
The surrounding countryside was just rolling hills with White Birch trees
and we didn't see the point in going to the top. It really makes
you appreciate the Northwest. There are hardly any evergreen trees
so it gets pretty barren in the fall and winter. We then had a pleasant
drive trough the rest of New Hampshire and Vermont. We stopped for
the night here at the Comfort Inn (802) 865-3400 in Burlington VT and plan
on driving to Perth Canada and Lisbon NY tomorrow.
