Today
we drove from Boston to Acadia N.P. We stopped in Freeport Maine
to see the LL Bean store and the DeLorme Map Company who makes the software
I use to plan trips. We stopped in Bangor to check into our motel
and then drove onto Acadia N.P. It had rained all day and reminded of us
the Pacific Northwest except the trees are very short here and the humidity
is high. As we started through the park the rain stopped and the
views were beautiful of the coast. The video clips here don't capture
what it looked like. I hope the 35 mm photo's look better.
After we left the park we went to Bar Harbor to have dinner. We had
a nice meal right on the harbor and when we finished, the town had their
fireworks display. It had rained the day before so they had postponed
it one day. It was a nice display and was a nice finish to the day.
Tomorrow we head for New Hampshire and Vermont.
